Creating a scientific identity and digital platform to communicate innovative Alzheimer's disease research.
Following the award of a prestigious European Research Council (ERC) grant, Dr. Maite Solas partnered with SCINERGICS to develop the visual identity and website of SOLAS Lab, her research laboratory focused on understanding the role of astrocyte metabolism in Alzheimer's disease.
The project involved the complete design and development of the laboratory’s brand identity, including logo creation, branding development, and the definition of a visual language aligned with the scientific rigor and innovative nature of the research.
As the main objective of the project, we designed and developed the laboratory website (solas-lab.com), conceived as a scientific communication platform capable of bringing highly specialised research closer to the scientific community, collaborators, institutions, and society.
The website clearly presents the scientific foundation of the laboratory, its research areas, projects, publications, team members, and latest updates through a content structure and visual design that facilitate the understanding of complex concepts related to neuroscience, brain metabolism, and Alzheimer's disease.
One of the main challenges was translating highly specialised biomedical research into an accessible, rigorous, and visually engaging digital experience while maintaining a balance between scientific excellence and effective communication.
This project demonstrates how a strong scientific communication strategy, combined with distinctive branding and web development focused on dissemination and international visibility, can strengthen the presence of a research laboratory from its earliest stages
